About

Howdy! Welcome to Hotter Than a Habanero, the blog dedicated to promoting a discussion about climate science, what it means for water, and what we can do to improve our resiliency.

Hotter Than a Habanero aims to demystify and normalize the complex topic of climate change. Our content is written by expert staff from The Meadows Center for Water and the Environment at Texas State University and invited Guest Contributors. We cover a wide range of topics, from the fundamentals of how Earth’s climate works, to issues around extreme events such as droughts, floods, and hurricanes, and even brainstorming better ways to respond to such events. We offer timely perspectives on hot-topic issues and research related to climate change from the scientific community and in the news. Located in Texas, some of our content reflects severe water challenges faced by our region; however, we will also offer national and international perspectives to our discourse.

We encourage readers from all backgrounds and perspectives to join us on this journey. If you have an idea that you would like to write about for the blog, please review our submission guidelines. Then, contact us with your idea.
